We Love Skiing

Look at me - NO tip toys

Mason, Mom and Libby March 2008

This was our last ski day in late March. We had thought we were done for the year. But we kept having snow storms and the sun kept shining so one last day. I was so glad we went because this was the day that Libby finally stopped using her tip toys. "We love skiing"

Dead Mans Powder

Mason - February 2008

Mason quickly named this trail (not really a trail, more of a path) "Dead Mans Powder" . Obviously there is a lot of powder to get through and get stuck in. Mason loves it. He will pretty much follow his dad anywhere, good thing they are both crazy skiers!

Family Ski Day

Gustaveson Family March 2008
Mason and Will

Max and Mason

Libby and Maddie
What a fun day at DVR. The whole crew got to ski together. By the end of the day everyone had improved, some kids had moved to the big hill, no one got hurt and there were lots of smiles.

Derby Time

Mason was sooooooo excited for his first Pinewood Derby. Mason and dad put a lot of research and time into the car. They started at Grandpa Scotts house to cut out the car. Then there was a lot of sanding by Mason and finally the super slick paint job.

Masons car was #27 and he ended up taking second place in the races. It was a fun night. Our cub masters made fun drivers licenses for each of the boys and the cultural was decorated with lots of flags and cars.

The best part of the night is when we came home and the first thing Mason did was put together his plan for the 2009 derby. Maybe someday I can scan his plans. but they included a detailed drawing, title of car, colors for car, what to do and what not to do (with drawings for explanation)

Christmas Newsletter

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS

The Scott Family has had a "busy" year full of fun . We loved our family get aways to San Diego, Bear Lake, and Moab. Mom and Libby took a girls only trip to California in May. Will and Brecka were lucky enough to go to Chicago in June with Wills work. As always the visits from Grandma and Grandpa Dyer in May and November were enjoyed.

Mason has been busy in the 4th grade. He works very hard at school and at home. Mason loves the weekend: no homework, fewer chores, and he can stay up as late as he wants. He is always trying to beat his best time for how late he can stay up. Mason constantly asks what he can do to help me and often sees a needs and helps without being asked. He is a great example to Libby and Boston as they mimick much of what Mason does or says. Mason loves to play and be outside. Will and Mason took a few chances this year to camp and fish. Mason loves fishing -when he catches something. For his birthday he got a fly rod and had a couple of chances to fish with Will, Grandpa Mike and Great Grandpa Gus on the river. He is looking forward to skiing, the Pinewood Derby, the Science Fair, Soccer Season, and his next off-track time from school.

Liberty is the greatest. She is girly and fun! Libby is in preschool this year. She is taking dance. She claims not to love it yet did a fantastic job at her Christmas Recital. She got to dance on the big stage at Grandma's work. Libby also takes tumbling with Miss Deana. She is getting strong and improves every week on her tricks. When she first started 6 months ago we thought it might be a chore to get her to practice at home. Just the opposite, we can't stop her from practicing. Some days I am pretty sure she does at least 100 cartwheels. She loves to arch walk around the house and thinks the big wide aisles of the grocery store are made for her flips. Libby loves to read and dance and sing. She oftens wanders around the house singing songs about whatever she is doing. Libby is looking forward to skiing, swimming lessons at the indoor pool, and starting kindergarten.

Boston, is so very busy. We love him; chasing him, cleaning up after him, keeping track of him at busy places, keeping him out of the road, off ladders, in the grocery cart. He doesn't have many words so will often greet you with a roar, a bark, or a grunt. He is crazy about balls, any type, any size. He thinks trucks, cars, and dinosaurs are pretty great. Boston loves to be outside running, riding, climbing, occasionally walking. Although he is only 2 Boston does a pretty good job of keeping up with the older kids. He loves to chase and tackle and be rough and crazy. Did I mention he is busy!!! We love his hugs and kisses and the sweet way he folds his arms to say prayers. I love when I walk into the room and find him laying on his belly, hands under his chin, engrosed in a book. Boston is looking forward to talking, riding a bike, and being able to keep up with the big kids.

Will works hard every day at work and then at home. We love and appreciate him. He is ticking away at the constant list of projects, most of them in our yard. In November he installed our bb hoop and poured a concrete sidewalk and extension to our driveway. With some help he also finally completed the outside of our shed,"The Cider House". If you are wondering, this is no tough shed. See photos to be posted at a later date. Will loves a chance to get in on a game: volleyball, softball, basketball, but truly passes up a lot of opportunities to help the kids with their activities. He is great at teaching and coaching our kids in his own patient way. Will is looking forward to??? getting the shed finished.

We are all grateful to be happy, healthly and able to work and play. We wish the same for you.
